A jejune attempt at sophistication, Mr. Adams.

Before I disappear to another social occasion, I'll point you to John Adams's website. The great composer is also a witty and assured writer.

He doesn't think much of current classical music criticism. He seems to think it's all pre-ordained, cliché-ridden nonsense.

He's spot on.

Why don't you try and be a bit positive in one of your blog posts. You think everything is rubbish and that you can do a better job. Why dont you then. :)

Very brave of you to use the moniker 'anonymous'. What a shame your intellect is lacking: I was being complimentary. John Adams is one of my favourite composers, and I think his blog is both fascinating and well-written.

By the way, we tend to use this symbol to represent a question: ?. Try it some time.
